Configuresoft Executive to Deliver SANS ''Stay Sharp'' Course on Incident Response for Windows Systems.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Chris Farrow Will Discuss Six Steps Toward Better Defense Against and Remediation for Viruses, Trojans and Backdoors

Configuresoft, an innovator in systems management technology and the creator of enterprise compliance management, today announced that Chris Farrow, director of Configuresoft's Center for Policy & Compliance, will be teaching a SANS Institute Stay Sharp Program course titled, "First Responder - Win 32." This Stay Sharp class will give participants a fundamental understanding of the SANS Six Steps for Incident Handling, a brief introduction in forensics, and in-depth discussion on applying the Six Steps on the Windows platform. The Stay Sharp Program focuses on education that teaches an audit, operation, legal, management, or security skill in a single session.

This four-hour course will prepare participants to deal, hands on, with viruses, Trojans, and backdoors that get past defenses and infect an organizations' Windows systems. The course builds upon SANS' well-known structured incident handling process to show how to identify suspect software on a system and clean it. A further benefit of the course is that many of the skills and tools taught can be used in day-to-day system administration for general system troubleshooting and management, or if necessary, forensics.
