Confident of High Tech Rebound, IEC Moves to New Headquarters.

CHICAGO -- The International Engineering Consortium has relocated to a new headquarters, a move the group says reflects its optimism in the ongoing rebound of the high tech industries the IEC serves.

The IEC, which has been based in Chicago since its inception in 1944, is now located at 300 W. Adams St., suite 1210, across the street from the Sears Tower in Chicago's Loop. The nonprofit organization provides international educational and networking opportunities for professionals in a range of high technology businesses and to faculty and students at more than 70 affiliated universities.

"This move reflects our confidence in the future of the communications and technology marketplace," IEC Senior Director John Janowiak said. "The new offices will help us more efficiently accomplish our traditional mission: To act as a platform for industry and universities to learn from one another."

The IEC had previously been located in the west Loop on Randolph Street. And while the offices of the IEC have moved, its address in cyberspace remains the same: www.iec.org.

The next major IEC conference takes place Sept. 20-23 in Venice, Italy. "Broadband World Forum Europe" will provide an in-depth examination of broadband technology developments primarily aimed at the European market. An IEC program aimed at design engineers, Euro DesignCon, takes places Oct. 11-14 in Munich, Germany.
