The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) is pleased to be hosting its 2003 NEHA Annual Educational Conference (AEC) and Exhibition (June 8 - 11, 2003) at the Reno Hilton Hotel in the Reno/Lake Tahoe region. Continuing Education 

You can earn 24 hours of NEHA continuing education (CE) contact hours by attending the educational sessions at the NEHA AEC! This is enough to meet your full two-year NEHA professional credential requirement. (Don't forget to visit the exhibit hail for up to two CE contact hours.) CE forms will be available at the conference. CE units have also been requested for portions of the conference from the: American Board of Industrial Hygiene ABIH); American Dietetic Association (ADA); and National Environmental Trainers Association (NETA). NEHA has invited Julie Louise Gerberding, M.D., M.PH., to present the keynote address. As Acting Deputy Director of National Center for Infectious Diseases (NCID), Dr. Gerberding played a major role in leading CDC's response to the anthrax bioterrorism events last fall. Among her many accomplishments, Dr. Gerberding has authored/co-authored more than 120 peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters and contributed to numerous guidelines and policies relevant to HIV prevention, post-exposure prophylaxis, management of infected healthcare personnel, and healthcare-associated infection prevention and control. NEHA extends a rate of $175 for members and $205 for non-members (if you sign tip by May 23, 2003) to attend one day of the conference (i.e. for $175 a member may attend any of the sessions on, for examl)le, Sunday including Chemical and Bioterrorism Preparedness, Food Safety and Protection, and IAQ, and other general EH sessions). Price includes food functions (if any) specified for the clay (does not include Presidents' Banquet).

Exhibit Events

NEHA's quality educational program builds attendee motivation--both in the classroom and in the exhibit hall. A heavy emphasis is placed on the exhibition as an important part of the overall learning experience. In fact, you can earn tip to 2 CE contact hours for visiting the exhibit hall!

Special Events

The special events at the NEHA AEC and Exhibition are designed to enhance your conference experience. From the keynote presentation, which sets the tone for the conference, to the Presidents' Banquet, which concludes the conference by celebrating the accomplishments of the EH profession. Golf Tournament

Friday, June 6 (1:30pm - 7:00pm) The golf tournament is a great way to have some competitive fun. This year's tournament will be held at D'Andrea Golf Club, which was designed by award-winning golf course architect Keith Foster. This 6,849-yard, Par 71 layout meanders through mountainous foothills and high desert canyons, providing some of the most spectacular views of the Reno area including the magnificent Sierra Nevada Mountains. The awards reception will immediately follow the golf event. Cost is $115 if you sign up by May 23, 2003. Cost includes transportation, box lunch, $5 golf shop gift certificate and awards reception. AAS Luncheon and Business Meeting

Tuesday, June 10 (11:30am - 2:45pm) Members of American Academy of Sanitarians (AAS) will hold their annual luncheon and business meeting to discuss plans for the upcoming year. Cost is $25 if you sign up by May 23, 2003.

USPHS and AAS Honor Awards Reception *

Wednesday, June 11 (4:45pm - 6:00pm) Join AAS and USPHS representatives in honoring award recipients. AAS will award the Davis Calvin Wagner Award. USPHS will award the John G. Todd, Edward (Ted) Moran, and the John C. Eason Awards.

Presidents' Banquet *
