Conference draws communication leaders to Australia.

 "Leaders in Communication" conference and inaugural IABC Asia Pacific Leadership Institute in Melbourne, Australia, in November.

In his address, the charismatic Burgess, group managing director of public policy and communications at Telstra Corp., stressed the relationship between business and government, among other topics. His presentation kicked off the conference and was followed by other senior international speakers focusing on leadership in business communication.

The Asia Pacific Leadership Institute was attended by members from Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, India, Australia, Hong Kong Hong Kong (hŏng kŏng), Mandarin Xianggang, special administrative region of China, formerly a British crown colony (2005 est. pop. 6,899,000), land area 422 sq mi (1,092 sq km), adjacent to Guangdong prov.  and China, as well as by members of the IABC executive board, including IABC Chair Warren Bickford, Vice Chair Glenda Holmes, President Julie Freeman, and IABC Director-at-large and Regional Director Asia/Pacific Bish n. 1. Same as Bikh.  Mukherjee. Both events were developed and managed by IABC/Victoria board members under the leadership of President Belinda Schmidt.
