The new system achieves mixing of ingredients, like nuts and nougat nou·gat

 pieces, during conveying, delivering them into the process in the correct ratio for the snack bar being manufactured.

Mixing takes place as the ingredients are gently transferred, in a stream of air, through a totally enclosed pipeline, up an incline and into a reception hopper located above the main plant.

This ingredient handling system has eliminated the requirement for an additional mixer.

Initially, bulk quantities of the ingredients are tipped from sacks into bins at a load-station. Feeders meter the materials into a tundish tun·dish

Before a production run begins, the operator uses the system's PLC controls to set each feeder individually. This ensures that the ratio of one ingredient to another remains constant throughout the run.
