Conexant to Open Design Center in Oregon.

Conexant Systems Inc., (Nasdaq:CNXT) Monday announced the opening of a 6,000 square-foot design center in Portland, Ore., to deliver semiconductor solutions designed for the wireless and networking broadband communications markets.

The new facility will initially be staffed with a team of 13 engineers focused on the development of state-of-the-art, DSP-based signal processing solutions for wireless products and SONET-compliant transceiver integrated circuits (ICs) for fiber optic networks.

Their expertise in systems analysis, digital communications audio processing and embedded software, as well as high-speed analog and mixed signal front-end transceiver solutions, will contribute to the development of ICs for advanced mobile terminals and the Internet backbone infrastructure.
