Conexant Solutions Selected by LG Electronics for World's First DVB-S2 Set-Top Box; New HDTV Receiver Deployed by Major North America Digital TV Provider.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- Conexant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CNXT), a worldwide leader in semiconductor solutions for broadband communications and the digital home, today announced that LG Electronics, a global player in electronics products for the digital era, has incorporated the company's CX24126 satellite set-top box (STB) DVB-S2 demodulator and CX24118 advanced modulation 8PSK tuner in their new high-definition television (HDTV) receiver. LG's model H20 is the world's first set-top box based on DVB-S2, the industry's newest digital video broadcast standard. DVB-S2 leverages key developments in channel coding and modulation to provide up to a 35 percent capacity increase over the previous DVB-S standard. The H20 STB is currently being deployed by DIRECTV in the United States.

The highly integrated CX24118 direct down conversion satellite tuner was designed to meet the stringent performance parameters required for advanced modulation 8PSK and DBS-S2 applications. Together, these two devices provide manufacturers with a complete front-end system solution that optimizes system performance.
