Conexant Semiconductors Solutions Enable Coship's High-Definition IP Set-Top Box; New STB Enables Consumers to Receive and Manage Digital Video Programming.

(NASDAQ:CNXT), a worldwide leader in semiconductor solutions for broadband communications and the digital home, today announced that Coship Electronics Co., LTD, China's largest manufacturer of set-top boxes (STBs), has based their new Anysight220c IP receiver on the company's MPEG-4/H.264 high-definition digital broadcast television solution. Coship's IP STB allows consumers to receive standard and high-definition television programming over broadband access networks. Coship's IP STB is slated for deployment by service providers in Asia beginning in January of next year.

These include the CX24182 video decoder, the first chip in the world that was compliant with the MPEG-4 advanced video coding (AVC)/H.264 standard. The new receiver also includes Conexant's CX24172 high-definition broadcast decoder required for HDTV STBs with personal video recording (PVR) capabilities, and the CX20552 USB 2.0.
