Conexant's Solutions Chosen by Yuxing for New IP Set-Top Box; High-Definition IP STB Targeted for Asian Telco Market.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- Conexant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CNXT), a worldwide leader in semiconductor solutions for broadband communications and the digital home, today announced that Yuxing InfoTech Holdings Limited, a leading provider of equipment for digital entertainment, has selected the company's semiconductor solutions for their new high-definition (HD) IP set-top box (STB)/digital media player. Yuxing's YX-5711A multimedia IP STB allows consumers to receive and manage digital audio and video content transmitted via a telecommunication operator's broadband access network. The new box is based on Conexant's MPEG-4/H.264 video decoder, HD digital broadcast television decoder, and universal serial bus (USB) 2.0 physical layer (PHY) transceiver. Together these three components enable the next generation of broadcast quality telco TV applications, including support for high-definition programming. According to Yuxing, their IP STB will be deployed in telecommunications networks in Asia in early 2006.

--CX2418X - MPEG-4/H.264 video encoder. The world's first decoder compliant with the MPEG-4 advanced video coding (AVC)/H.264 standard. --CX2417X - High-definition digital broadcast television decoder. This device includes all of the major elements required to implement the core system and decoder electronics of high-performance personal video recorder (PVR)-enabled HDTV STBs deployed in telco TV networks.

--CX20552 - USB 2.0 PHY transceiver. This device interfaces with the CX2417X, allowing the IP STB to interface with a variety of external USB 2.0 devices and expand its capabilities.
