Engineering, a leading provider of military and commercial avionics databus DATABUS - DATApoint BUSiness Language.A language like an interpreted assembly language, used for custom applications on Datapoint computers. solutions, today announced the availability of its latest ARINC ARINC - Aeronautical Radio, Inc. ARINC - Aeronautical Research Incorporated ARINC - Aircraft Radio Incorporated 708 databus interface (P-708) for weather radar applications. "Condor has migrated its interface technology to a more versatile PMC module, while upgrading product functionality and capability," said John Gerngross, president of Condor Engineering. "Customers requiring weather radar databus interfaces can rely on this powerful solution for a wide range of test, simulation, display and embedded applications," added Gerngross. The P-708 simultaneously supports two ARINC 708 channels. Each P-708 channel operates as an independent transmitter or receiver with programmable frame size and buffer storage capacity. Specialized receive features such as frame time-tagging and error detection/notification of short/long frames, as well as specialized transmit features such as sweep scheduling, programmable frame gap duration, and short/long frame and start/stop sync error injection, are included. With a programmable number of bits per frame, the P-708 is useful for a wide range of 1 MHz Manchester-encoded applications. Condor provides integrated support for this module on PCI, CompactPCI, VME, VXI and native PMC platforms. An easy-to-use, high-level software API (Application Programming Interface See API.), is included with support for Windows XP, 2000, Me, NT, 98, 95 and VxWorks (x86 and PPC). The API is also provided in C source code for ease of integration. About Condor Engineering Condor Engineering is a leading supplier of avionics databus tools and solutions.
