Concurrent Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:CCUR), the leading provider of digital video solutions on demand, today announced its planned demonstrations for the ANGA Cable 2002 Trade Fair in Cologne, Germany April 23-25, Booth #H14.

At this fourth annual ANGA Trade Fair, Concurrent will demonstrate the same systems and software that have been selected for 30 commercial broadband VOD deployments by AOL Time Warner, Cox, Comcast, Cogeco, Mediacom and Blue Ridge Communications in North America.

Concurrent will showcase its MediaHawk(R) VOD System, which provides cable operators all the tools necessary to run their VOD business from end-to-end. A primary component of the system is the MediaHawk Video Server, which is a high-performance, scalable, digital video server that is capable of supporting MPEG1, MPEG2, or MPEG4 digital video streams on HFC, DSL, and IP-based transport networks.

Concurrent's MediaHawk VOD System also features the MediaHawk Business Management System (BMS). The MediaHawk BMS includes a complete system for managing content, subscriber demographic information, transaction and usage analysis, billing, and order fulfillment. Concurrent's VOD technology enables subscribers to use a digital set-top box to instantly call up digital movies and other programming from a list that includes major movie titles and control their selected movie with VCR-like functionality including fast forward, pause, and rewind.

Concurrent demonstrations planned for the trade fair include the MediaHawk Video Server and BMS integrated with bandwidth effective MPEG4 video streams and hybrid fiber coax (HFC) cable, digital subscriber line (DSL), and IP-streaming set-top boxes (STBs) from European suppliers Kreatel and Pace Micro Technologies. Additional demonstrations will include commercially deployed integrated end-to-end VOD solutions for the hospitality market.

Organized by the ANGA Services GmbH in cooperation with the German Association of Engineers (ZVEI), the ANGA Trade Fair for Cable, Satellite, and Multimedia is one of the most important German trade fairs for CATV operators.
