Concurrent Computer Supports Time Warner Cable SVOD Tests in Summerville and Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Original Columbia, S.C. SVOD Test Expands.

Concurrent Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:CCUR), the pioneer and market leader in Video-On-Demand (VOD) commercial deployments, today announced the expansion of the subscription Video-On-Demand (SVOD) test in Columbia, S.C. to include two additional systems of the Time Warner Cable S.C. division: Summerville and Myrtle Beach, bringing the number to six SVOD trials for Concurrent, with two different cable operators nationwide.

Concurrent's MediaHawk(TM) Model 2000 is being used in all four current SVOD trials, including Time Warner Cable's Home Box Office SVOD trial in Columbia. The Columbia SVOD trial offers 328,000 basic subscribers the ability to have HBO movies and original HBO programs on demand, with VCR functionality including pause, fast forward, and rewind. The Columbia trial is utilizing 17 Concurrent MediaHawk Model 2000 Video Servers, capable of 5,440 streams and nearly 2,000 movie titles, as well as Concurrent's Business Management System (BMS) for back office services, such as billing and subscription management. PowerTV developed the HBO On Demand application and managed the integration with Concurrent's BMS.

Time Warner Cable's Myrtle Beach HBO On Demand SVOD trial is utilizing eight Concurrent MediaHawk Model 2000 Video Servers, capable of 2,560 streams and approximately 900 movie titles, available to more than 100,000 basic subscribers. The Summerville market is utilizing four MediaHawk Model 2000 Video Servers, capable of 1,280 streams and approximately 500 movie titles, available to more than 23,000 basic subscribers. Both of these SVOD deployments are also using HBO On Demand applications developed and integrated by PowerTV.

Concurrent's SVOD trials are on both Scientific-Atlanta and Motorola digital networks and involve a variety of SVOD programming providers, including Starz Encore, HBO, and Showtime. SVOD gives consumers more choice, convenience, and control - much like Video- On-Demand - enabling impulse viewing of premium movies and original network programming with VCR-like functionality including fast forward, pause, and rewind, for a small flat fee.
