Concurrent Computer Corporation Wins $2 Million U.S. Navy Contract.

Concurrent Computer Corporation (NASDAQ:CCUR) announced today that it received an order for five real-time PowerMAXION computers as well as integrated hardware and PowerWorks software for U.S. Navy AEGIS class ships. The purchase order is for $2,013,939.

The U.S. Navy tasked Lockheed Martin with finding the best real-time system on the market to replace the existing AN/UYK technology used for radar and weapons controls on the Navy's AEGIS cruiser and destroyer ships. After thorough evaluation of all competing systems, Concurrent's PowerMAXION solution was selected for its real-time performance and symmetric multiprocessing capabilities in a commercially available system.

The initial systems purchased are for engineering development and system tests. In production, each AEGIS class destroyer shipset will utilize four Concurrent computer systems. There are 57 ships in the current Navy plan.
