Concorde-New Horizons Corp. Wednesday announced the production of a special edition of "Piranha piranha: see characin.

"Piranha" was originally released in theaters in 1978 by New World Pictures, and remains the highest-grossing feature film ever produced and distributed by Roger Corman.

The film launched the very successful careers of producer Jon Davison ("Robocop," "Top Secret!," "Airplane!" and "Starship Troopers") and director Joe Dante ("The Howling," "Twilight Zone twilight zone - [IRC] Notionally, the area of cyberspace where IRC operators live. The DVD release includes: a special 90-minute commentary by Dante and Davison, never-before-seen bloopers from the film, and home movies taken during the filming of "Piranha."

Reprints of the original eight-page theatrical marketing brochure, along with a specially prepared booklet titled, "A History of Roger Corman and New Horizons," will be included with each disc, and available only through DVD purchase.

Each Corman classic features a different interview with Corman by noted film critic Leonard Maltin. All films have been digitally remastered and include motion menus, trailers and biographies to take full advantage of DVD technology.
