The first edition of "Moulton-Geden," as it is usually known, appeared in 1897. It has been in print ever since. As a seminary student I purchased my first copy in 1949, used, from England, and gave it away when I purchased a later revision. It has been a desktop friend ever since.

This new edition is the result of five years of work by a team under the direction of I. Howard Marshall, bringing the concordance up to date. It now is based on the 27th edition of the Novum Testamentum Graece Novum Testamentum Graece (also Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament) is the Latin name of a Greek language version of the New Testament.

The Novum Testamentum Graece is in its 27th edition. The abbreviation for this text is NA27.

text), while preserving the variant readings of Westcott-Hort, Tischendorf, and the Greek text underlying the English Revised Version. At the same time it preserves the values of the five earlier editions; the Hebrew text of any citation of the Old Testament is printed along with the Greek New Testament citation. Thus the concordance includes all text that might have a claim to being an original reading. In this respect it is superior to all other Greek concordances concordances,

presently available, whether in print form or as computer databases.

The concordance is complete except for the definite article, de, and kai. Symbols, listed on p. xvii, indicate items not found in the Septuagint or earlier Classical Greek. The Supplement in earlier editions that gave an index of prepositions is now incorporated in the main body of the text. If a term occurs twice in the same verse, they are printed on separate lines to enable easier numerical vocabulary counts. Finally, new Greek fonts make for clear printing, a boon to tired eyes.

This completely revised edition should make Moulton-Geden-Marshall the standard concordance for the next generation. Anyone who uses the Greek New Testament will want a copy of it.
