July 28, 1954), is an American jazz singer, composer, producer, and arranger. She has been nominated for five Grammy Awards for her vocal work,[1] , will release her first "live" album on Concord Records Concord Records is a well-known U.S. jazz record label, based in Beverly Hills, California. Originally known as Concord Jazz, it was established in 1972 as an off-shoot of the Concord Jazz Festival in Concord, California by festival founder Carl Jefferson, a local on October 7 entitled LIVE. Her fifth Concord Records release, LIVE was recorded at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and marks a decade-long recording career for Freelon, as well as 20 years of live performances onstage.
