The annual Concerto Concert heads the list of three music events this week at the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. University Symphony

Sunday, Beall Hall

The University Symphony and three soloists will perform in the School of Music's annual Concerto Concert at 3 p.m. in Beall Concert Hall.

The soloists were selected from a school-wide competition, designed to showcase outstanding performers in a formal symphony concert format.

The program includes one movement of `Concerto No. 3' by Sergei Rachmaninoff Noun 1. Sergei Rachmaninoff - composer and piano virtuoso born in Russia (1873-1943)

, with soloist Trevor Robinson Trevor Robinson (born July 8, 1984 in St Catherines, Jamaica) is a professional footballer, currently without a club, after formally playing for Nationwide Conference side Cambridge United, where he played as a midfielder. .

Tickets are $7, $5 for students and senior citizens, at the door.

Chamber Ensemble

Wednesday, Beall Hall

Igor Stravinsky's `A Soldier's Tale' will be performed by the Eugene Contemporary Chamber Ensemble at 8 p.m. in Beall Hall.

Admission is free.

`A Soldier's Tale' is a 1918 theatrical work about a soldier who trades his fiddle to the devil for a book that predicts the future of the economy.

The music is scored for a septet, and the story is told by three actor/dancers.

Wednesday, Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art is an art museum located on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. The original building was designed by Ellis F. Lawrence as part of his "main university quadrangle," now known as the Memorial Quadrangle.  

Student chamber ensembles will perform at 6 p.m. in the UO's Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, 1430 Johnson Lane. Admission is free.
