DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. -- Concert Group Logistics (CGL), a Downers Grove, Ill.-based leader in transportation logistics, as part of its green mission recently completed the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Freight Logistics Environmental and Energy Tracking (FLEET) Performance Model, and has met the requirements to be recognized as a SmartWay Transport Partner.

SmartWay Partners include a global network of freight transportation companies that are dedicated to promoting greater energy efficiency and air quality within the freight transport sector. Each year, SmartWay partners conserve between 3.3 and 6.6 billion gallons of diesel fuel, saving nearly 150 million barrels of oil. CGL was awarded this innovative partnership in recognition of its voluntary commitment to work with the EPA and its own supplier network to improve air quality, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save fuel, and protect public health.

Using the EPA's FLEET Performance Model, CGL can track and assess progress and efficiency, quantify the benefits, and evaluate possible environmental strategies.
