In commenting on these results, Dieter Peter, Concert's Chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  states, "We are very pleased with the results recorded during the first quarter of 2000. These results reflect the continued increase in product demand that has prompted Concert to expand its production facilities while continuing to focus on product development and customer service.

Our newest production line in Falkenhagen was completed on time and within the projected budget of $61 million, during the last quarter of 1999 and successfully commissioned in the first quarter 2000. Concert's Falkenhagen plant currently represents the world's largest and most sophisticated air-laid production facility. Given the increased demand in Europe for Concert's products, the plant's production start-up curve is exceeding management's expectations.

Construction on Concert's new facility in Gatineau has continued on time and on budget during the last quarter. The $127.5 million project includes the construction of a 270,000 square foot building which will house two new 2.7 metre wide air-laid lines. The start-up of this project which is expected in the second quarter next year will more than double Concert's global rated capacity to 73,000 tonnes."
