Concern over police plans.

CONCERNS have been raised over plans by Britain's biggest police force to buy in specialist forensic services.

Scotland Yard is offering up to pounds 32m to pay external companies to analyse electronic equipment such as computers, mobile phones and memory devices.

But one member of the Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA), the force's board of governors, said the move risks leaking sensitive information.

Lord Toby Harris said he is "surprised" by the decision and believes much of the work could be done better and more securely by police employees.
