Field Case Managers will make extensive use of Changepoint's

Pocket PC Client, scheduled for general availability

Changepoint Corporation, a leading professional services automation (PSA) software provider, today announced that Concentra Managed Care Services, a division of Concentra Inc., will deploy Changepoint Version 7.0 to its more than 1,100 Field Case Managers located throughout the United States and Canada.

"Our primary objective in evaluating PSA and selecting Changepoint was to develop a new organizational and operational model to support continued growth. Changepoint will replace manually intensive processes, allowing us to reduce overall cost of Case Management operations, and improve the quality of service that our nursing staff delivers and the quality of their work life."

Concentra will use Changepoint's project management capabilities to track and manage referrals, resource management capabilities to check resource availability and scheduling, request management functionality to manage internal workflow, and invoice generation capabilities to generate more than 30,000 invoices on a monthly basis. Changepoint will serve as the primary application integrating with other systems thereby improving the quality of information.

The Field Case Managers, who provide medical and vocational rehabilitation services primarily to individuals injured in workplace accidents, will be equipped with Compaq iPAQ devices loaded with the Changepoint Pocket PC client. Given the highly mobile nature of their work, the Pocket PC client will enable them to receive new assignments and update time and expenses accurately to ensure that invoices are issued in a timely manner. Case managers also will use the Changepoint Pocket PC to track and status activities and manage their caseload more efficiently.

Changepoint recently announced the launch of Version 7.0, which is scheduled for general availability November 22, 2001. The Changepoint Pocket PC is scheduled for general availability in December 2001. Concentra will begin rollout of Changepoint by mid-January 2002 with deployment to case managers phased over the first two quarters in 2002.
