Conaprole de Argentina.

The Argentine business publication Buenos Aires Economico reports that Conaprole, the Uruguayan dairy co-operative, is adding ice cream to the products it already has on sale in Buenos Aires supermarket chains, including Jumbo, Disco, Coto, and Pantry. The company, which opened an Argentinian subsidiary, Conaprole de Argentina, last April has invested $1 million in the country and expects to record a turnover of $15 million during its first year there. In addition to ice cream, it will sell cheese, butter, and caramel spread in Argentina. Regarding ice cream, Buenos Aires Economico reports that Conaprole is thought to have a good opportunity with upscale Argentines who are familiar with the Conaprole brand from their holidays in Uruguay. But the company's main customers will be the 300,000 Uruguayans living in Argentina. Conaprole is currently outsourcing its distribution in Argentina, but may soon open its own distribution center.
