ConSyGen Reports Sales of Counterfeit Cop.

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 1999--

ConSyGen Inc. (Nasdaq: CSGI) reported that market response to its new business product, ConSyGen's Counterfeit Cop is meeting management's expectations for its introductory rollout plan.

ConSyGen's Counterfeit Cop detects counterfeit currency (both U.S. and foreign), credit cards, traveler's checks, casino chips, passports, driver's license, and other types of items used for monetary exchange or identification.

As expected, the banking industry has shown a high level of interest. M&I Thunderbird Bank of Arizona purchased units for every branch. Cindy Beer, loss prevention manager for the bank stated, "We intend to use the device at every teller booth in every Phoenix branch."

Several other Arizona banks are new customers with intentions of ordering many more after gaining some experience with the first units installed.

ConSyGen has also experienced early success in the convenience store industry. A Phoenix association of 7-11 outlets purchased as a group. Sales have been booked to other franchises in addition to 7-11. The company plans to exhibit at the National Association of Convenience Stores in Chicago this fall to build maximum exposure.

Last week, ConSyGen received enthusiastic response as the featured vendor for the Casino Security and Law Enforcement Meeting in Las Vegas. Other major tradeshows are expected to play an important part in producing general awareness of the Counterfeit Cop.

Bob Roth, ConSyGen's vice president of sales and marketing said, "Along with the response in these industries, a number of resellers are stocking the unit providing us another strong distribution channel. The resellers are especially important in reaching markets faster than our direct sales reach allows.

Direct sales should take off sharply when certain major accounts complete their evaluation of the demonstration units already working in test locations. These accounts are well known large companies in the grocery, banking, wholesale discount, credit card, and amusement park industries.

The company believes that demand for the product internationally will be very strong. The company has entered into a number of reseller agreements to date in South Africa, Korea, Mexico, the Philippines, Taiwan and Eastern Europe."

The company acknowledged that its e-commerce offering through its website link agreements with portal sites such as Yahoo Stores (Nasdaq:YHOO) has not met expectations. However, the company believes that once product awareness gathers momentum and the need for live demonstration diminishes, Internet orders will mushroom.

ConSyGen will continue to provide Computer Systems and Conversion services as it has throughout its history. Such services include proprietary software technologies rendering automated Year 2000 (Y2K) compliance for all major computer platforms and for all levels of the COBOL computer.
