ConSentry Networks Chief Scientist Named One of "The 100 Most Influential Latinos of Silicon Valley".

Award Granted to Mario Nemirovsky by Mexican American Community Services Agency

MILPITAS, Calif. -- ConSentry Networks, the leading provider of secure switching, today announced that Vice President and Chief Scientist Mario Nemirovsky, PhD, has been named one of "The 100 Most Influential Latinos of Silicon Valley" by the Mexican American Community Services Agency, Inc., (MACSA) of San Jose, California. The list pays tribute to Latinos who have significantly contributed to making positive change in the Silicon Valley Mexican-American community. MASCA will present the 10 most influential nominees with awards at its signature event, "The 100 Most Influential Latinos of Silicon Valley Awards Ceremony and Red Carpet Gala," on Saturday, June 30, at the Mexican Heritage Plaza Theater in San Jose.

Nemirovsky was nominated to the list in the technology and science category. As ConSentry's chief scientist, he is responsible for designing the next-generation stateful processors that form the foundation of ConSentry's award-winning LANShield platforms. Nemirovsky has done research in many areas of computer architecture, including simultaneous multithreading, high-performance architectures, and real-time and network processors. His research has significantly advanced the state of the art in multi-core processors.

Prior to joining ConSentry, Nemirovsky founded XstreamLogic and architected its high-performance Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT) network processor. He was also a chief architect at National Semiconductor and Weitek. As chief architect at Delco Electronic, General Motors (GM), in 1985, Nemirovsky architected a GM engine control still in use today. He received his PhD in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he was also an adjunct professor. Nemirovsky holds 40 issued and 22 pending patents.
