ConEdison Solutions buys Florida's BGA, Inc.

ConEdison Solutions, one of America's leading energy service providers, announced today that it has acquired BGA, Inc., an energy service and engineering company headquartered in Tampa, Florida.

Upon completion of this transaction, Con Edison Solutions increases its energy services operating footprint into the Southeast. BGA's Tampa office will join ConEdison Solutions' existing offices in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Virginia and Texas.

BGA's staff of professional engineers, energy analysts, and designers develops and implements energy conservation measures for commercial, governmental, healthcare and institutional facilities. The company specializes in designing complex building systems and energy infrastructure, and also provides turnkey construction management services. Founded as Bosek, Gibson & Associates in 1986, the firm has provided energy consulting services to clients in 35 states. The company has managed over $200 million in energy service projects. Under the leadership of president and cofounder Michael W. Gibson, the firm has delivered a wide variety of specialized engineering assignments and turnkey facility improvement projects.

In 2000, BGA, Inc. was awarded a Shared Energy Services award for Central Florida from the US Postal Service. Under the program, vendors receive a percentage or "share" of the dollar savings attributable to energy conservation projects in return for assuming full implementation costs. Six years later, under the same Shared Energy Services program, the USPS selected BGA to provide energy services to USPS centers throughout the Southeast. Under that same group of awards, the USPS designated ConEdison Solutions to serve facilities in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands.
