The site's existing 4,500 square-foot structure has been refurbished to include 3,520 square feet of docking area with 18 doors and approximately 1,000 feet of office space. The new service center has 20 employees who will move an estimated 250,000 pounds of freight daily. "This facility is really an outgrowth of our Detroit and Jackson service centers," said Richard V. Palazzo, president and chief executive officer of CCX. "The most important aspect is that having a facility in Ann Arbor increases the service level to our constantly growing customer base in Washtenaw county," he added. Customers served are primarily in Ann Arbor, Saline, Hamburg, Milan, Ypsilanti and Whitmore Lake. Next-day service from the facility covers all of Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, most of Wisconsin, Illinois, Kentucky and Pennsylvania, and parts of Canada, New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States.
