Comverge Technologies, a subsidiary of Data Systems & Software Inc. (Nasdaq:DSSI) today announced that it will supply advanced load management software and hardware to Public Service Company of Colorado (PSCo). Comverge will deliver the Load Management Software (LMS) and the wireless digital control units (DCU's) before the summer. PSCo will provide the units to its customers without cost and will offer rebates in exchange for the ability to cycle central air conditioners during peak electric demand. The units are equipped with a special algorithm that adapts to the previous hours' cycling and reduces the units run time proportionately. This ensures all customer loads are cycled at the same level. This technique provides equitable load reduction among customers and increased energy capacity to the utility.
