Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq: CMTL), an innovative player in the domestic and global high-technology markets, has been ranked by Fortune Small Business (FSB) magazine as one of the fastest-growing small businesses in the United States.

Comtech was one of only six telecommunications companies on the list and one of the highest ranked New York-based companies.

The FSB 100 listing, which is featured in FSB's July issue, was compiled with Zacks Investment Research and considered only public companies with $200 million or less in revenue for 2001. The editors ruled out any companies that had been in business less than three years as of Dec. 31, 2001, and any that do not trade on one of the major stock exchanges at a stock price of over $1. The remaining companies were then ranked based on three criteria: earnings growth, revenue growth, and total stock return, including dividends. Finally, the editors averaged the rankings to identify the fastest growing companies.
