) announced today that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., was awarded a $2.0 million contract to provide Ku-Band satellite ground communications equipment to a civil aviation customer in Asia.

The Model KST-2000A Earth Station Transceivers will power the customer's Ku-Band satellite communications. Comtech EF Data's high-performance, feature rich satellite earth station transceivers are available in a variety of frequencies and output power. Integral to the transceivers are dual frequency synthesizers A frequency synthesizer is an electronic system for generating any of a range of frequencies from a single fixed timebase or oscillator. They are found in many modern devices, including radio receivers, mobile telephones, radiotelephones, walkie-talkies, CB radios, satellite  that provide independent transmit/receive tuning and deliver phase noise performance that exceeds industry standards. With configuration flexibility and ease of installation, the KST-2000A transceivers are tailored to meet the needs of fixed station, mobile and transportable applications.
