The COOL Docs software is Computron's latest addition to the Computron(R) COOL suite of products, providing a common user interface for access to multiple document types, including images of paper documents, mainframe reports, and desktop documents.

The COOL Docs software is a standalone product that provides secure access to information through a common desktop interface for Microsoft NT 4.0 and Windows 95 clients. The COOL Docs system provides a high-speed, cost-efficient means of storing, retrieving, and distributing computer generated information, thereby allowing instant access to data while replacing costly, labor intensive Labor Intensive

COOL Docs software provides simultaneous access to information by multiple individuals in the organization, access to large volumes of data easily and quickly from the user's desktop, and access to sensitive information controlled from a central point of systems administration. Additionally, the unified interface improves group effectiveness via efficient file organization and indexing, thereby eliminating time wasted searching for misfiled documents while providing the ability to access all related information from a single cabinet, folder, document metaphor. Using the COOL Docs software, these documents can be linked and cross-referenced to standard COLD reports and other documents, allowing users to fully understand the subject of inquiry.

The architecture of the COOL Docs solution allows scaling to support large, enterprise-class applications. However, this same scalability also extends the reach of COLD and imaging solutions down to smaller organizations that were previously locked out of the technology by the high cost and complexity of competitive product offerings.

Computron will be demonstrating the COOL Docs software daily as part of its COOL Blues Cafe promotion at AIIM '98 in Booth No. 119.
