Computron Software, Inc. Signs Major Contract in Excess of $500,000 With Basis Petroleum - Formerly Phibro Energy, U.S.A. - For Maintenance and Materials/Work Management Software.

RUTHERFORD, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 30, 1996--Computron Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTRN) announced today that it has signed a contract in excess of $500,000 with Basis Petroleum (formerly Phibro Energy, U.S.A.) for Computron's new client/server Maintenance and Materials/Work Management software applications.

These applications will manage the preventive and predictive maintenance planning and procurement functions for Basis Petroleum's plants. Computron acquired the Maintenance and Materials/Work Management software from Cap Gemini America in December 1995.

Basis joins other petrochemical companies that have adopted Computron's integrated suite of Maintenance and Materials/Work Management applications. These include CITGO Petroleum, Texaco, Ultramar Canada and Pemex in the energy industry, as well as City of London, Ontario in the government/utilities marketplace.
