and serial processing technology used in Computone's PowerRack remote access server and proprietary features of NewCom's high performance modem products. Using integral compression, the ISDN BRI interface can support data rates up to 512 Kbps. Correspondingly, the serial interface supports up to 921.6 Kbps, to ensure the asynchronous Refers to events that are not synchronized, or coordinated, in time. The following are considered asynchronous operations. The interval between transmitting A and B is not the same as between B and C. The ability to initiate a transmission at either end.  serial line does not slow down the ISDN link. When used with the Computone IntelliServer PowerRack, which also supports 921.6 Kbps, the full ISDN bandwidth can be used.

The modem also supports a standard AT Command Set Interface, V. 120 Rate Adaption adaption

Protocol, and MultiLink Point-to-Point Protocol (MLPPP See MPPP. ) for channel bonding to combine both B channels. Thus, the modem ensures that you will maximize the use of your ISDN BRI links.

Thomas Anderson, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  and President of Computone, stated, "Computone has achieved serveral firsts in high performance technological innovation in communications and remote access products. Our PowerRack product is the fastest remote access server on the market today and the first to offer performance above and beyond the speed of communication links available today. The development of the fastest ISDN modem complements our PowerRack performance. We are enthused about our relationship with NewCom as our customers require the use of modem products along with our line of remote access servers. The new ISDN modem and analog modems from NewCom will provide a greater selection for our customers. We are confident that NewCom's already established marketing strengths perfectly complement those of Computone. We feel this relationship with NewCom will enhance revenues for Computone's leading edge products."

Asif Kham, Executive Vice President of NewCom, stated, "This is one of the most exciting relationships that NewCom has entered into and reaffirms our committment to providing our customers with unique industry leading products. The growth of the Internet is truly expolsive and the major telephone companies have repeatedly shown their determination to provide digital service to all their subscribers. As such, it is only logical that there will be dramatic growth in sales of ISDN modems. Recent industry forecasts indicate that the worldwide demand for ISDN modems in 1998 could be as high as 15 million units. NewCom plans to position itself to be a leading provider of ISDN modems. Our agreement with Computone goes a long way in helping establish our goals in this area of dynamic growth. In addition, NewCom plans on pricing the new modem very aggresively with the current 128 Kbps ISDN modems on the market today. We will not only be the leader in speed, with data throughput rates of 921.6 Kbps, we also plan on being the price leader. This is a perfect, new product addition for the national brand recognition that NewCom now receives."
