) has introduced the IntelliPort Plus EX, an intelligent, fast and expandable remote access solution for use with SCO (The SCO Group, Lindon, UT, www.sco.com) A leading vendor of Unix operating systems for the x86 platform.  host adapters, and can be configured from 16 to 64 ports through a single host expansion slot. Users may attach up to four units in RS-232 or RS-485/422/232 selectable modules, and can mix and match RJ45 and DB25 connectors.

The IntelliPort Plus EX is available with 16-port DB25, RJ45 (with 10-pin full feature set including data set ready and ring indicators), and 16-port DB-25 RS-485/422/232 (individually port-selectable) expansion boxes. The new 16-port model Plus EX-16D/485 meets longer cabling requirements, including distances of up to two miles, providing the ability to multidrop multiple serial devices on each port.

For UNIX users, IntelliPort Plus EX offers a variety of valuable built-in IntelliFeatures(TM), including menu-driven installation, IntelliView(TM) multiple sessions, IntelliPrint transparent printing, IntelliSet(TM) port configuration, and IntelliTools(TM) remote diagnostics. Drivers for the new IntelliPort Plus EX are also included in the kernel for Linux 2.2 and above.
