Computervision Services Announces Support Services Agreement with Rave Computer Association, Inc.


BEDFORD, Mass., Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Computervision Corporation (NYSE NYSE

: CVN (Card Verification Number) See CSC. ) today announced that Rave Computer Association, Inc., the leading independent Sun marketplace solutions provider, has selected Computervision Services(R) as its software and hardware maintenance provider. Computervision Services will offer its full range of services on Rave's new line of SPARC (Scalable Performance ARChitecture) A family of RISC CPUs from Sun that runs mostly under Sun's Solaris, but also under Linux and BSD operating systems. After development began in the mid-1980s by David Patterson of the University of California at Berkeley and Bill (TM) based systems, the POWER Tower(TM) and POWER Rack(TM). Computervision Services, recognized as the largest independent service provider for Sun systems, will also offer maintenance services on new, used and Rave remanufactured Sun and SPARC-based workstations, servers, laptops, peripherals as well as SunOS and Solaris operating systems, systems software, Java and Java workshop products. Computervision Services will provide Rave customers with a full array of service plans from mission-critical seven-day/24-hour support to reduced coverage for less critical applications.
