The user-friendly Health Station provides organizations, such as DHHS, with an innovative strategy to increase access of prevention education and care to high-risk individuals. By utilizing a computer-based risk assessment form to generate a tailored message for each user, individuals receive educational messages on various diseases depending on their reported health risks. With telephone capabilities, the Health Station enables users to schedule medical or counseling appointments on the spot. In addition, organizations can offer incentives, such as gift certificates, to increase attendance at clinical appointments.

"CSI Health Stations are a critical component of the DHHS initiative," said Teresa Ayala-Castillo, program manager with DHHS. "These information delivery systems provide DHHS with the technology to offer the Long Beach and South Bay community direct links to treatment and education resources, which can improve healthcare quality, reduce disease and save lives."
