Computerization of CPA Exam set for May 2004. (CPA Exam).
The AICPA and NASBA NASBA - National Association of State Boards of Accountancy have agreed that the November 2003 Uniform CPA Exam will be paper and pencil, but by May 2004 students' typing skills should be honed.
The computerized version of the Uniform CPA Exam is expected to be implemented by the May 2004 exam and possibly earlier.
The computer-based exam will assess critical skills, such as research and communication, with increased emphasis on information technology and general business knowledge. It also will broaden the scope in the audit and attest attest v. 1) to confirm (usually in writing) that a document is genuine. 2) to bear witness that someone actually signed a document, such as a will. All states require at least two witnesses (three in Vermont) to attest that a will was signed and declared to be a will (except a will written in one's own handwriting in some states).
