.A flexible headband and reference star with reflective markers is attached to the patient's head, and the registration is done with a special wireless Softouch[TM] pointer. The Kolibri ENT system then guides the surgeon through the procedure and provides continuous online information on instrument position and movement in multiple planes (sagittal sagittal /sag·it·tal/ (saj´i-t'l)

Existing surgical instruments can be integrated by attaching wireless adaptor clamps. Even the tip of extremely bent or curved instruments can easily be calibrated for navigation. In addition, surgeons have the option of saving intraoperative images on the system's CD-ROM for postoperative documentation.
