Computer classes offered free to veterans.

COLUMN: VETERANS NOTES

Massachusetts Veterans Inc. will sponsor free computer classes for veterans. The classes, MCDST-XP-OP and MCDST-Office 2003, are scheduled at the MVI Computer Training Academy, 69 Grove St., Worcester.

Cherry Valley American Legion Post 443 will host The "Hank" Wood Memorial Bowling Tournament

at 9:30 a.m. at Bayberry Lanes, Route 9, Spencer. Refreshments will follow at the post, 167 Main St., Cherry Valley.

Grafton Hill American Legion Post 323 will meet at 1 p.m. at the Worcester Detachment Marine Corps League, 181 Lake Ave., Worcester.

TOMORROW

East Side American Legion Post 201 will meet at 7 p.m. at 326 Plantation St., Worcester. The executive board will meet at 6 p.m.

Vernon Hill American Legion Auxiliary Unit 435 will meet at 7 p.m. at the post, 267 Providence St., Worcester.

Barre American Legion Post 2 will meet at 7:30 p.m., 21 Allen Drive, Barre.

TUESDAY

The Department of Massachusetts American Legion Information & Technology Committee will meet at 7 p.m. at the Vernon Hill American Legion Post 435, 267 Providence St. Worcester.

Paxton American Legion Post 306 will meet at 7 p.m. at 885 Pleasant St., Paxton.

James R. Kirby American Legion Post 50 will meet at 7 p.m. at the VFW hall, 10 Allen St., Clinton.

Italian American War Veterans Post 3 will meet at 7 p.m. at 14 Itam Court, Worcester.

Cherry Valley American Legion Post 443 will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday at 167 Main St., Cherry Valley. The executive board will meet at 7; the Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 7:30. Sons of the American Legion

will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the post.

The Team Freedom/Masonic Military Support Group is welcoming home Dan Reeve from Iraq with a party at 8 p.m. at Joel H. Prouty Lodge, 780 Southbridge St., Auburn.

WEDNESDAY

The Worcester County Council District 4 American Legion Ways & Means Committee will meet at 7 p.m. at the Sterling American Legion Post 189, School St., Sterling. The District 4 Membership Team will meet at the end of the meeting.

The Worcester County Vietnam Veterans and AMVETS Post 1391 will meet at 7 p.m. at Tatnuck American Legion Post, 570 Mill St., Worcester. The executive boards will meet at 6:30 p.m.

Blackstone Valley Marine Corps League Detachment 911 will nominate officers at 7:30 p.m. at the Dudley-Gendron American Legion Post 414, 156 Boston Road, Sutton.

THURSDAY

Blue Star Mothers Central Massachusetts Chapter 3 will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the East Side Post, 326 Plantation St., Worcester.

Vernon Hill Sons of the American Legion Squadron 435 will meet at 7 p.m. at the post, 267 Providence St., Worcester. The executive board will meet at 6:15.

SATURDAY

The Korean War Veterans Association of Central Massachusetts will meet at 10 a.m. at the South Works VFW Post 3657, 115 Ballard St., Worcester.

The New England Regiment of the Combat Infantrymen's Association will meet at 10:30 a.m., with lunch to follow at Bull Run Restaurant, 215 Great Road, Route 2A, Shirley. The cost is $20. For more information, call Joe Barca at (781) 762-7316.

Webster- Dudley American Legion Auxiliary Post 184 will hold a meat raffle at 2 p.m. at Houghton Street, Webster.

OTHER

The medical van owned by Veterans Hospice Homestead of Fitchburg will stop at four locations this week:

Tuesday: Massachusetts Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 69 Grove St., Worcester, noon to 3 p.m.

Thursday: Clark Memorial Community Center, Central Street, Winchendon, 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; Townsend Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6538, 491 Main St., West Townsend, 1 to 3 p.m.

Friday: Hardwick Town Hall, 307 Main St., in the Gilbertville section of town, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A nurse will conduct health screenings, including cholesterol and blood glucose levels and hypertension testing, and answer medical questions for veterans enrolled in the VA health care system.

Central Mass Yoga Institute is offering free yoga classes for combat veterans at 11 a.m. every Thursday at the institute, 45 Sterling St., No. 28, West Boylston. Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 3439 of North Brookfield will sponsor a trip to Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn., Monday Feb.18. The bus will leave at 8 a.m. from St. Joseph Church parking lot in North Brookfield, the Big Y lot in Spencer at 8:15 a.m. and then from the Sovereign Bank parking lot in Spencer. The bus will leave the casino at 3:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per person. For more information, call Ardith at (508) 867-5635 or (508) 867-8102.

REUNIONS

A reunion of the former crewmen of the USS Boston CA-69, CAG-1 and SSN-703-USS Boston shipmates, crew members of all U.S. Navy ships named Boston and flag personnel is scheduled July 10 to 13 in Portland, Maine.
