Computer Systems Center Incorporated Becomes a USO World Partner; CSCI to Build Lasting Relationship with Marines Stationed in Japan.

SPRINGFIELD, Va. -- Computer Systems Center Incorporated (CSCI), a unique and solidly established small technology company that excels in solving complex problems for the private and public sectors, today announced that it will become a World Partner of the United Service Organizations, or USO. As a new World Partner, CSCI will donate cash and in-kind donations, to include televisions, movie projectors, laptop computers and satellite internet service to the soldiers stationed at the Jungle Warfare Training Center (JWTC) in Okinawa, Japan. In addition, CSCI will set-up a worksite that will serve as a communication tool between the soldiers, their family members and the CSCI employees.

The soldiers stationed at the JWTC currently lack access to any of the communication services and entertainment tours provided by the USO. The soldiers currently have a few out-dated televisions, paid for with money generated through snack bar sales. Oftentimes, when the soldiers do not raise enough money, they are forced to pay for this service. As a result of this need, CSCI's donation includes equipment, a CSCI communication worksite for JWTC interaction with family members and the services for access and maintenance both to the worksite and servers.

The JWTC is home to the Department of Defense's only jungle warfare training ground. Established in 1958, the JWTC provides military personnel an ideal setting for jungle training. As the Vietnam War escalated, interest in the area increased and officers were stationed there to teach courses. During the Vietnam War, the area's dense jungle and rugged terrain offered an ideal site for preparing Marines for jungle combat.
