Computer Sciences gets N.C. Medicaid contract.

Computer Sciences Corp. will install and operate Medicaid payment systems for the state of North Carolina under a $265 million contract, according to state officials.

The state selected CSC over a competing bid submitted by Electronic Data Systems Corp., the officials said.

Under the four-year contract, CSC will develop and operate the computerized bill-paying system for the state's Medicaid program providing health care services to low-income adults and children. The federal government pays the bulk of the costs.

CSC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 9 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
