Computer Marketplace names David Roekle chief operating officer.


CORONA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 27, 1995--Computer Marketplace Inc. (NASDAQ:MKPL) Thursday announced that it has named David Roekle chief operating officer of the company.

Roekle has been with Computer Marketplace for the past 10 years, advancing from sales to leader of the RISC 6000 mid-range systems team, and director of marketing. He most recently served as senior vice president, with widened responsibility for administrative areas of the company.

As COO, Roekle is responsible for the daily operations of Computer Marketplace, overseeing sales, finance and administration. He reports directly to the Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer, L. Wayne Kiley.

Commenting upon the appointment, Kiley stated: "Dave Roekle was with Computer Marketplace at its founding, and much of the company's growth can be attributed to his outstanding performance in sales and management. As chief operating officer, he will help the company achieve new benchmarks, and guide an expanded group of experienced personnel in new directions for future growth."

Computer Marketplace distributes new and used computer equipment nationwide to end-users, dealers, computer maintenance companies, leasing companies and equipment brokers.

A specialist in delivering advanced technology, MKPL also sells and rents used medical equipment through its wholly owned subsidiary, Medical Marketplace Inc.; performs asset recovery assignments, repossessions and verifications through its wholly owned subsidiary, Marketplace Asset Recovery Services (MARS); and provides turnkey networking solutions for companies through its network solutions group and through its wholly owned Novell Platinum dealer, Superior Solutions Inc.
