Computer Language Research, Inc. announces the acquisition of the assets of Renter Index, Inc. by its Rend Roll subsidiary.CARROLLTON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 18, 1996--Computer Language Research, Inc. (Nasdaq/NM: CLRI CLRI Central Leather Research Institute (India) ), announced the acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Renter Index, Inc. by its wholly-owned Rent Roll subsidiary. Renter Index is a privately held Dallas based corporation that provides applicant screening and other information services See Information Systems. to multifamily property management and development companies in Texas. While Renter Index services will continue to be sold to customers on a stand-alone basis, such services also will be integrated into Rent Roll's existing residential property management software, which includes the previously acquired software and services of Credit Interfaces. Rent Roll acquired Credit Interfaces, which performs essentially the same services as Renter Index, in January of this year. The Company paid approximately $2.5 million in cash for substantially all of Renter Index's non-cash assets and entered into employment and non-compete agreements with the sole selling shareholder and an additional key employee.
