Computer Horizons announces outsourcing contract with Dow Corning.


MOUNTAIN LAKES, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 1, 1996--Computer Horizons Corp., a leading provider of information technology solutions, announced today that the company has been awarded a multi-year contract with Dow Corning Dow Corning is a multinational corporation headquartered in Midland, Michigan, USA. Dow Corning specializes in silicon and silicone-based technology, offering more than 7,000 products and services. Dow Corning is equally owned by The Dow Chemical Company and Corning, Inc.  to provide maintenance outsourcing for Dow's Midland, Mich. facility.

The contract will be delivered through Horizons Consulting Inc. (HCI (Human Computer Interaction) Refers to the design and implementation of computer systems that people interact with. The outsourcing project, launched on Feb. 12, calls for a three-year term in which Computer Horizons will provide 24x7 service, through six programmer analysts A person who analyzes and designs information systems and designs and writes the application programs for the system. In practice, the title is sometimes simply a reward to a programmer for tenure. , five analysts and one project manager. Applications being handled under the contract include financial, order and supply fulfillment, marketing and sales, and inter-American systems.

"Computer Horizons' years of experience with legacy systems services and its project management expertise made them a clear choice to handle these functions."

Other outsourcing offerings offered both domestically and offshore through Computer Horizons' joint venture in India, Birla Horizons International, include legacy systems maintenance, help desk and data center activities, program design and code generation, and software conversion/migration.
