Computer Associates Signs Cooperation Agreement With Belgrano University.

Agreement Was Signed During Charles B. Wang's Visit To Argentina

Computer Associates International, Inc., today announced that it has signed a cooperation agreement with the Belgrano University to formalize and expand its relationship with one of Argentina's best regarded universities.

CA's objective is to develop an Academic Partner Program to complement Belgrano's technology curriculum. This program would provide hands-on experience with Computer Associates software - which is used by most of the Global 1000 businesses - on a world-wide basis for information management, project planning, enterprise management and many other mission-critical tasks.

CA's Jasmine software will be installed at the School of Systems Engineering and at the Technological Laboratories of Belgrano University. This software will be available to faculty, students and staff for research purposes and for community projects.

CA's Jasmine is the first and only industrial-strength pure object database that features a fully integrated multimedia development environment and the openness to integrate with existing applications and data. For the second stage of this deal, the University has chosen CA's Unicenter TNG as the standard for administration and control of the entire technological infrastructure of the University of Belgrano. The infrastructure of the system will be coordinated through the Communication Center of UB, which interconnects and administers the information flow among 700 workstations, 7 laboratories used by students and professors of the School of IT and Technology, a computer graphics laboratory, and all e-mail and Internet services.

Unicenter TNG is currently the most comprehensive management platform of the market. As an enterprise solution, Unicenter TNG runs under multiple platforms, including Windows NT, Unix and OS/390 servers. The University of Belgrano (UB) was founded on September 11, 1964 by the rector of this fine institution, Dr. Avelino J. Porto.
