Computer Associates today introduced AimIT, a comprehensive asset and inventory management solution based on CA's industry-leading Unicenter TNG technology. AimIT provides complete multi-platform software and hardware asset inventory, PC configuration management, license metering and auditing, advanced scripting and extensive query reporting functions. AimIT is available in Enterprise and Workgroup editions.

By providing an enterprise-wide point-of-control for all assets in the organization, AimIT greatly reduces the time and effort needed to maintain optimum performance of the enterprise computing environment. Technicians no longer have to visit individual desktops for routine inventory and configuration tasks. AimIT helps clients control software costs by ensuring that they only license what they need, while maintaining strict compliance with any and all licensing agreements.

AimIT provides technical staff and help desk operators with precise, up-to-date information on users' hardware and software configurations and any changes that have occurred to their system. AimIT utilizes the Unicenter TNG Framework's Enterprise/CSi (Configuration Standardization initiative) capabilities to perform inventory management and configuration on tasks on PCs even when they're turned off. AimIT monitors utilization trends and suggests changes in license agreements. The combination of AimIT, Remotely Possible and ShipIT allows technicians to resolve desktop software problems remotely.

AimIT also provides configuration management tools that centrally and proactively administer system configuration files.
