The advanced CA technology, which the company is providing at no cost to Polytechnic, will offer students the opportunity to develop skills necessary to help address the growing demand for information technology (IT) professionals.

"CA's leading-edge software solutions are by far the most comprehensive and robust technology available today," said Dr. David R. Doucette, Associate Dean of Polytechnic's Long Island campus. "By providing our students with valuable hands-on experience using CA's technology, our graduates will have a competitive advantage when entering the IT marketplace."

Polytechnic is offering courses in its computer science program on Unicenter TNG, CA's industry-leading enterprise management solution that manages dispersed computer networks. Students completing these courses will be prepared to take CA exams to earn the industry-recognized Certified Unicenter Engineer (CUE) designation.

"Since today's businesses run in increasingly complicated multi-platform environments, it's crucial that IT students understand the software that manages the entire technology infrastructure," said Chris Wagner, CA executive vice president and general manager, GPS. "The introduction of CA products into the Polytechnic curriculum will provide students with real-world experience to help prepare for IT careers after graduation."

The University is also utilizing Ingres II, CA's complete solution for n-tiered relational application development and information management, as part of its relational database relational database
