CompuTrac announces Dimension software shipping built exclusively on Microsoft technology.

RICHARDSON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 31, 1996--CompuTrac, Inc. (AMEX - LLB) announces the start of shipment for its new Dimension(TM) time and billing system.

"This is a very important milestone for us," stated Sonny Margolis, CEO of CompuTrac. "We have worked long and hard on this product, and are very pleased with its capabilities and functionality. I believe this product will set new standards in the legal marketplace in terms of functionality, ease of use and price performance. A good indication is the fact that some of our resellers have been able to close sales, on the spot, during their first Dimension demonstration to a customer."

Dimension is the sixth time and billing system developed for the legal community by CompuTrac over its 20 year history. The Dimension system is designed to accommodate a sole practitioner up to a 75 timekeeper law firm. "This opens up a whole new market to us," added Deb Greening, vice president of operations at CompuTrac. "We have been able to design a system with features traditionally reserved for larger firms at a small firm price." The Dimension system was created exclusively with Microsoft(R) tools, including Visual C++(R) and Microsoft Exchange, and offers tight integration with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.

Several customers have already received and installed their Dimension software. Bernie Stephan, a partner at The Griffing Network, a certified Dimension reseller in Houston, noted, "Our installations have gone very smoothly. The implementation materials sent with the product were very comprehensive. The program looks great and works really well."

The complete Dimension system offers functionality including standard time entry, desktop timers, customized bill generation, detailed client reporting, expense item tracking, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger and conflict of interest checking. Several add on products are already in the works and will be released over the coming year.

Primary support for Dimension, including Dimension software service packs, is provided over the Internet and may be accessed with Microsoft Internet Explorer (included at no charge with each copy of Dimension). Direct contact support is also available, as are a variety of training and installation options.
