CompuServe Selects I/PRO -- Internet Profiles Corporation -- to Provide User Registration and Measurement Capabilities for the World's First $1 Million Internet Scavenger Hunt.


SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 20, 1995--I/PRO(TM) (Internet Profiles Corporation) today announced that CompuServe has selected the I/PRO System to provide user registration and measurement services for the $1 Million Internet Hunt from CompuServe, which begins July 14 and runs through October 27, 1995.

The first of its kind, the Hunt is expected to attract more than 13 million participants worldwide who will navigate (1) "Surfing the Web." To move from page to page on the Web.

(2) To move through the menu structure in a software application.
 the World Wide Web in search of answers to various clues.

I/PRO will deliver both the I/CODE(TM) registration system and the I/COUNT(TM) tracking and analysis system to CompuServe for use during the Hunt. During an initial registration process, all participants will provide basic geo-demographic data and receive a unique I/CODE. This I/CODE will enable the participant to both join the Hunt and to continue to participate over the life of the event. I/PRO will securely store the data for verification during prize disbursement DISBURSEMENT. Literally, to take money out of a purse. Figuratively, to pay out money; to expend money; and sometimes it signifies to advance money.

. Additionally, I/PRO will deliver the I/COUNT measurement system to track and analyze the Hunt site's usage. The system will enable CompuServe to quantify Quantify - A performance analysis tool from Pure Software.  the activity the promotion has generated. Together, I/CODE and I/COUNT will allow CompuServe to gain valuable insights into usage patterns and characteristics.

CompuServe is the first user of I/CODE, which will be commercially available in Q3 1995. I/COUNT was commercially released last month and is used to measure and analyze aspects of site usage such as total number of users, time spent per page, sections read within each site and the geographic and organization origin of users. Lisa Thorell, vice president of marketing for CompuServe's Internet Division said, "I/PRO is the first company to deliver the ability to track usage patterns and characteristics of users.
