(Nasdaq:CDCY) an industry leader in sophisticated security products, integration and technology for the public security markets, today reported new project contracts and awards in its Institutional Security Systems, Attack Protection, Federal Security Systems and Public Safety and Justice segments during the month of January totaling $4.9 million. The company also announced the receipt, in February 2004, of a $4.7 million contract from the State of Maryland for a prison facility in Cumberland, MD. Institutional Security Systems ("ISS ISS See Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS). ") received $453 thousand in contracts. Attack Protection received contracts of $1.5 million. Attack Protection is still awaiting the announcement of awards for the heavy bidding activity in September 2003 for the State Department Embassy projects. Federal Security Systems received contracts of $1.1 million for the month. Public Safety & Justice received $1.8 million in contracts and awards. In February the Company's Institutional Security Systems segment received a $4.7 million contract for work to be done at the North Branch Correctional Institution Noun 1. correctional institution - a penal institution maintained by the government detention camp, detention home, detention house, house of detention - an institution where juvenile offenders can be held temporarily (usually under the supervision of a juvenile in Cumberland, MD. This is the third phase of construction at North Branch, and CompuDyne has been involved in both previous phases.
