CompuCom earns ISO 9002 registration for entire vendor-to-customer distribution process.

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 22, 1996--CompuCom Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CMPC) announced today that it earned ISO 9002 registration for its complete vendor-to-customer distribution process. The registration ensures customers that CompuCom's advanced configuration and nationwide distribution services meet the highest level of quality management standards.

The registration was awarded to the $1.4 billion PC services integration company earlier this month, following an independent audit by KPMG Quality Registrar.

CompuCom finished the certification program for its two advanced configuration and distribution centers and for its Product Services Department in 9 months -- less than half the time normally required for single-facility certifications.

CompuCom's vendor-to-customer certification program maximized this benefit for its customers. The comprehensive registration assures them that the same high-level ISO efficiency and quality exists throughout CompuCom's entire distribution system.

CompuCom's Swedesboro, N.J. and Stockton, Calif. distribution centers earned registration for their advanced PC network configuration and distribution services. With the capacity to configure more than 1,000-plus systems and ship 2,000 units daily, these warehouses provide state-of-the-art distribution services while maintaining one of the lowest cost models in the industry.

CompuCom's Product Services Department, located in Dallas, also received ISO registration for all phases of operations: purchasing and order management, vendor relations, buying, product line management, and project management. The Product Services Department works closely with customers to forecast their PC needs and ensure consistent, timely availability from CompuCom.
